Undergraduates apply for UCSB admission online through a general University of California
application. The applicant designates UCSB as the preferred campus. If you are admitted
to UCSB, the Office of International Students and Scholars will send you a Form
I-20 to present at a US consulate in your home country in order to obtain an F-1
visa. This is the visa that you would use if your funding is from private family
sources. If your funding comes from your home university or government, you will
be sent a Form DS 2019 and will apply for J-1 visa status.
